Obituary

Yvonne Krumm, 85, of Farmer, SD, passed away Monday, June 15, 2026, at Diamond Care Center in Bridgewater. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM Monday, June 22, at St. Martin Catholic Church in Emery, SD. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Farmer, SD. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1-3:00 PM at the Church with a 2:00 PM prayer service.

Yvonne Rose (Weber) Krumm was born March 19, 1941, to Michael and Josephine (Schoenfelder) Weber in Mitchell, SD. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1959. Yvonne married the love of her life, Herman Krumm, on May 12, 1962.

In April 1963, they moved to Farmer, SD, where Herman worked at the elevator, and Yvonne ran Krumm’s Bar.  A short time later, the elevator burned to the ground.  Then they took to selling Golden Sun Feed at the bar.  Herman and Vonnie worked side by side running a bar, feed business, hauling water, and selling fertilizer for nearly 50 years. During their extremely busy days, they managed to raise 4 children: Vicky, Valerie, Linda, and Eric.

Vonnie spent countless hours volunteering at St Peter’s church, the Spencer church, and the Epiphany church. She was also the Finance Officer for the Town of Farmer.  This woman never sat idle. Evenings were TV time when there was nothing on her schedule. She would crochet or assemble quilts while watching black-and-white westerns.  When retirement rolled around, she continued volunteering for the church, served on the Town of Farmer Board, and continued with her crocheting and quilting.

Yvonne is survived by her children,  Vicky (Scott) Glatt, Val Keller (Travis Jones), Linda Schroeder, and Eric Krumm (special friend Rebecca Kaiser); grandchildren, Bryan Glatt, Holly (Tyler) Pierson, Michele (Michael) Kuemper, Josh Keller, Bailey (Blake) Bakker, Karli Schroeder (Matt Queen), Mariah (Jordan) Urban, and Maci (Anthony) Goldade; great-grandchildren, Carter and Brielle Glatt, Jaycee and Wyatt Pierson, Letty and Peyton Kuemper, Jaylen Keller, Maxton Queen, and Colter Urban. She also leaves behind her dear friend, John Stockwell.

She was preceded in death by her husband Herman, parents, numerous brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.

Did a lot of business with Vonnie and Herman, played lots of cards too. She was the town of Farmer. May God's blessings go with the family.

My dad and mom always looked forward to spending time with her and Herman. Some of Mom’s last visits were with her, usually over lunch. May God grant her eternal life
