Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, November 22, at Bittner Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7:00 PM at Bittner Funeral Chapel.

William DeMaranville was born April 11, 1941, to Robert and Helen (Davison) DeMaranville in Sioux City, IA. The family moved to Rapid City, SD in 1946, and later to Belle Fourche, SD in 1952 where Bill would graduate from high school.

In 1962, Bill married Janet Shindoll in Belle Fourche, and to this union three children were born: Eileen, Deanna, and Dan.

Bill moved to Mitchell, SD in 1967 where he began his insurance training and State Farm Insurance. He married the love of his life, Connie, on June 23, 1997, in the Black Hills of South Dakota, where two families became one. Bill and Connie enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, golfing, and the occasional gambling. They enjoyed entertaining and spending time with friends and family. They spent many of their years together in Mesa, AZ. They eventually moved back to Mitchell to be closer to family, and started every morning with coffee on their porch together, “their happy place”.

Bill is survived by his wife, Connie; sons, Dan DeMaranville of Mitchell and Brian Adam of Sioux Falls; daughters, Eileen Kehn of Mitchell, Deanna Radcliff of Blanchard, WV, Vicky Veltkamp of Billings, MT, and Brenda Keene; grandchildren: Avery, Evan, Gavin, Cam (Amy), Nate, Cori (Nick) Trina, Ashley, Amber, Justin, Chantel, Myles, Colby, Tucker, Brooke, Cortni, Jake, and Max; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Dave (Mary Beth) DeMaranville; and sister-in-law, Mary Ann DeMaranville.

He was preceded in death by Laurie Adam; brothers, Bobbie and Ron DeMaranville; and son-in-law, Jeff Kehn.

Bill was our agent for many years when we lived in Mitchell. One year, we were moving to Nebraska & had a fender bender on one of Mitchell’s one-way streets 3 days before & Bill had our car repaired before we left town…how remarkable & never forgotten!

Bill had been a State Farm agent a couple years before I became an agent in Sioux Falls. I always enjoyed seeing Bill at different times, meetings, trips and wherever. Bill had a smile on his face!
To Bill’s families my deepest sympathy!
