Tammy Metz, 58, of Mitchell, SD, died Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at her home under hospice care, surrounded by family. A Celebration of Life will be Monday, June 10, from 5-7:00 PM at Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Tammy K. Metz was born in Mitchell, SD on August 1, 1965, to Carl “Jim” and Margaret “Peggy” (Tischler) Metz. She attended school in Mitchell.

Tammy was a waitress/server at many establishments in the Mitchell community. She enjoyed spending time thrifting, garage sales, cooking for others, loved eating pizza and having a coke, and just having a good time, but what tammy enjoyed most was spending time with the grandkids.

She is survived by her daughter, Nikole McCarty; brother, Tony “Jim” (Kathy) Metz; grandchildren, Robert, Natalie, and Wesley McCarty; nephew, Jayden Metz; aunts, Christina Gardmer of Portland, OR, Margaret (Peg) Johnson of Mitchell, Kitty (Richard) Lund of Portland, OR, Carolyn Stevenson of Mitchell; uncle, John (Joyce) Metz; and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Mellissa; aunts, Janet Metz, Lorraine (Dolly)  Keeland, Mary Borszich, and Pat Kobold; and uncles, Ed Metz, Frank Metz, Barney Metz, Don Tischler, and Jim Tischler.
