Obituary

Susan Tucker, 63, of Mitchell, SD, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM Friday, April 10, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Mitchell, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Farmer, SD.

Susan Kay Tucker was born August 13, 1962, to Edward and Kathleen (Burke) Roster in Mitchell, SD.

Susan is survived by her children, Robert Tucker of Rolla, ND, Jessica Tucker of Trenton, TN, and Christina (Dylan) Reid of Faulkton, SD; two grandchildren; and siblings, Carm Roster of Mitchell, Angie Roster of Monett, MO, Wayne (Monica) Roster of Alexandria, SD, and Alice (Rich) Newsam of Fargo, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Kathleen Roster.

Thank You Jesus for the gift of Sue's life. She was and will continue to be a prayer warrior. She is a good friend who loves Jesus, the priesthood and the Catholic Faith. In gratitude for her life, for the comfort of her family and the repose of her soul Mass was offered for her today.

Sue was such a beautiful lady! Always smiling and giving
sweet hellos at church. She filled in for me on several occasions at adoration. I really appreciated her! Thoughts and prayers are with her.

Roster family, I was so sorry to hear of the loss of Susan. She was one of my classmates and trumpet buddies. After moving back to Alexandria, I would see and visit with her at church. She was so kind hearted and involved in her church. She will be dearly missed.

So sorry for your poss, I just saw Sue a few days ago, always with a smile and so thoughtful. She was there for me at a time I was in need of prayers for peace and health with her prayers and followed up with sincere concern. She will be missed. My deepest condolences to her family.

Sue was such a sweet lady. My son and I have mowed for her the past three years. I will miss seeing her at adoration. What a wonderful lady. I am sure she is rejoicing with her parents! You will be missed Sue! RIP

We are so thankful for having Sue in our lives these past few years. She was our prayer warrior for our family (now a more direct line in heaven) We always enjoyed her drop ins & the boxes of macrons for our treats😋She was the organizer of our Friday morning church ladies meetings and always provided ‘flavoring’ for our coffee. We will miss her dearly💔
She loved her children and the grandbabies were the icing on her cake. We know where U are Sue… but miss U

I was shocked and devastated by this announcement.
My prayers, rosaries, and more devoted prayers for her peace with the Lord. What joy for her, what tremendous loss for us.

Such a nice lady! I got to know her when we ate lunch down at Betty's cafe. She would bring her uncle in. I would visit with her in passing at the grocery store. 🙏 RIP Susan. 🙏
