Obituary

Susan Tucker, 63, of Mitchell, SD, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM Friday, April 10, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Mitchell, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Farmer, SD.

Susan Kay Tucker was born August 13, 1962, to Edward and Kathleen (Burke) Roster in Mitchell, SD.

Susan is survived by her children, Robert Tucker of Rolla, ND, Jessica Tucker of Trenton, TN, and Christina (Dylan) Reid of Faulkton, SD; two grandchildren; and siblings, Carm Roster of Mitchell, Angie Roster of Monett, MO, Wayne (Monica) Roster of Alexandria, SD, and Alice (Rich) Newsam of Fargo, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Kathleen Roster.

I was shocked and devastated by this announcement.
My prayers, rosaries, and more devoted prayers for her peace with the Lord. What joy for her, what tremendous loss for us.
To the family, and there are many, my devoted prayers go out to each one of you. I can’t imagine the loss and heartache but just know Christ is with all of you and all of us suffering a loss for our precious Sue. Love in Christ to each of you. Blessings be with all of you.

So sad to hear of Sue’s passing. She was truly a loyal and faithful servant of the Lord. Sue was a great prayer warrior for people in need of prayers. She will be greatly missed

Sue was generous in her smiles, her friendship, her expertise in baking, and in life. Her authentic faith- life is an example for all of us. She was a bright light in this world. Sue became one of my dear friends and I will be forever grateful for her presence in my life.

Such a nice lady! I got to know her when we ate lunch down at Betty's cafe. She would bring her uncle in. I would visit with her in passing at the grocery store. 🙏 RIP Susan. 🙏
