Obituary

Rollin Lauinger, 62, of Mitchell, died Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at his home. Visitation will be Friday, May 8, from 3-5:00 PM at Bittner Funeral Chapel with a 4:30 PM prayer service. Burial will be at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, SD.

Rollin Ivan Lauinger was born on November 20, 1963, in Chamberlain, SD. He was adopted by Joseph and Beverly (Weber) Lauinger. Rollin attended the Chamberlain, Oacoma, and Mitchell schools. Rollin attended Southeast Technical College and the Crippled Children’s School in Sioux Falls, SD.

Rollin enjoyed visiting with people at his father’s businesses, Joe’s Café or The Coffee Cup, in Chamberlain. Rollin enjoyed drawing ships, planes, motorcycles, people, and eagles.

He was a member of the Chamberlain Catholic Church along with the Holy Spirit and Holy Family Churches in Mitchell.

Rollin is survived by his sisters, Cheryl (Larry) Baker of Mitchell and Becky (Dale) Dalldorf of White Lake, SD.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Beverly Lauinger.
