Robert Dunn, 85, of White Lake, SD, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Aurora-Brule Nursing Home in White Lake, SD. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 27, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in White Lake, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in White Lake. Arrangements by Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Robert Francis Dunn was born on November 18, 1940, in Plankinton to Glenn and Lucy Dunn. Robert graduated in 1959 from White Lake High School and proudly served in the National Guard. Following his service, he devoted his life to farming south of White Lake, raising Hereford cattle with an Angus cross.  He also worked the land for many years and built lasting friendships within the community.

Robert was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, including watching western movies, cheering for the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins, and spending time playing cards with family and friends.

Robert is survived by his brother, Ronald (Joan) Dunn; sister, Jean Biteler; sister-in-law, Arlette Hettinger; along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Lucy (Reinesch) Dunn; brothers, Lawrence Hettinger and Gerald (Margaret) Hettinger; sisters, Margaret (Loren) Haines and Mary Ann (Eugene) Ries; brother-in-law, Emroy Biteler; and three infant brothers, Norbert, Lawrence, and George.

Robert will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, quiet kindness, and dedication to his family, faith, and farming life. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
