Raymond Trabing, 83, of Alexandria, SD, passed away peacefully Monday, July 13, 2026, at his home in Alexandria. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Monday, July 20, at St. Mary of Mercy Catholic Church in Alexandria. Burial will be at St. Mary of Mercy Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7:00 PM at Bittner Funeral Chapel with a 6:30 PM prayer service.

Ray George Trabing was born November 4, 1942, in Mitchell, SD, to George and Beulah Trabing. He was raised on the family farm and graduated from Alexandria High School.

On April 4, 1964, Ray was united in marriage to Peg Jarding. Through this union, two sons were born, Dennis and Brian.

Ray dedicated his entire work life to farming, a career he loved until retirement. He found great joy spending time at the lake, riding side by side through the Black Hills, following his grandchildren’s activities, and traveling through the states.

Ray is survived by his wife, Peg; sons, Dennis (Patti) Trabing of Prior Lake, MN; Brian (Lesa) Trabing of  Alexandria, SD; grandchildren, Erica (Aaron) Jenny, Drew (Joanna) Trabing, Sonnie Trabing, Mason Trabing, Madison (Tanner) Fischer and Morgan Trabing; great-grandchildren, Greyson, Aria, Hayes Jenny, and Miles Trabing; brother, Gary (Monica) Trabing; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Jerome Hoffmann.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Beulah Trabing; in-laws, Leo and Myrle Jarding; infant grandson, Jack Trabing; and sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Gene Speelman.
