Obituary

Norma Clark, 80, of Stickney, SD, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Aurora-Brule Nursing Home in White Lake. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Thursday, May 21, at Prairie’s Edge Methodist Church in Stickney. Burial will be at the Silver Ridge Cemetery in Stickney. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7:00 PM at the church with a 6:30 PM prayer service.

Norma Faye (Crockett) Clark was born on February 6, 1946, to Francis and Evelyn (Hawkins) Crockett in Mitchell. Norma graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1964. She continued her education at Southern State College in Springfield and graduated in 1966 with a teaching degree. She taught K-8 in country schools for two years.

Norma married Merle Clark on September 1, 1968, in Mt. Vernon, SD. From this union, two sons were born, Todd and Travis.

She spent many years as a cook at the Stickney Public School and the South Dakota State Training School before being a teacher's aide in Stickney.

Norma was a member of the Prairie's Edge Methodist Church in Stickney. It was important to her to be actively involved with the UMW. She also taught Sunday School. Norma was a dedicated leader of the Stickney Eagles 4-H Club for 20 years.

Norma loved and cherished her family. She greatly enjoyed many activities and outings with her three little "chickadees" (granddaughters), family gatherings, taking care of her flowers, cooking, and playing cards with different groups.

Norma is survived by her sons, Todd and Travis (Kristie) Clark; granddaughters, Kaylee (Cole) Gerlach, Kassidy Clark, Kyanna (Ky) Becker; three great-grandchildren, Ivy, Hayes, and Baylor Gerlach; sister, Vicky (Doug) Gerlach; brother-in-law, Alan (MaryAnn) Clark; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Merle Clark.

To the Clark family, Jeff and I are so sorry to hear of Normas passing. She was such a special lady, as I can attest since she was my mother Betty Boones roommate at Good Samaritan in Corsica. We always enjoyed visiting with her and listening to her stories she had of her family. Will greatly be missed! Our deepest condolences ๐Ÿ™

Norma was a joy to talk to when I visited the A B Home. She loved to tell about her family! I will miss her sweet smile. God bless your memories of her.

I enjoyed seeing Norma when the family would come to Iowa. She always had a smile and words of encouragement. Blessed to to have known her and her lovely family.
