Obituary

Michael “Mike” Thome, 71, of Mitchell, SD, died Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at his home in Mitchell. A visitation will be from 1-3:00 PM Saturday, March 5, at Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Michael C. Thome, son of Marvin C. and Barbara E. (Whitehouse) Thome, was born January 11, 1951, in Mitchell, SD.  He attended grade school at Litchfield Elementary, Mitchell Junior High, and graduated from Mitchell Senior High School in 1968. During and after graduating high school, he worked at the family business, The Honda Shop.

Grateful for having shared his life are his brothers, Marvin (Joni) Thome, Mitchell, SD, and Mark (Tami Hubbard) Thome, Missoula, MT;  3 nephews, Marshall (Nicole) Thome, Sioux Falls, SD;  John (Jojo) Thome, Fargo, ND;  Matthew (Becca) Thome, Missoula, MT; 2 great-nephews, Mason and Robin Thome, Missoula, MT; and 1 great-niece, Crosby Thome, Fargo, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Marv, you and your family are in our prayers. Mike would often share with me some stories containing knowledge that he had learned throughout the years of riding motorcycle. His wisdom and experience regearing motorcycle safety is something that I will truly miss. It was a privilege to see and talk to Mike in your store.

Mike was always so kind, when I was little I wiped out on my bicycle infront of the shop, He picked me and my bike up fixed me up fixed my bike and walked me home. Always a kind Hello. Deeply Sorry to Mike's Family and Friends

Marv and Family, I was saddened to hear about Mikes passing. He was a great guy! I always enjoyed talking to him at the Honda Shop, he always had some great advice. May he rest in peace, thoughts and prayers to all of you.

I'm so saddened to hear of Mike's passing. Mike was a very loving and deeply caring man in my life when I needed someone to lean on. He was always there for me and my children and remained a part of our lives. I will truly miss his quirky humor. Mike was an outstanding person willing to help those he cared for. May he RIP.
