Maynard Kirchhevel, 81, of Mitchell, SD, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM Tuesday, May 27, at Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell. Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Armour, SD.

Maynard Glayd Kirchhevel was born October 8, 1943, to Emil and Emma (Ruck) Kirchhevel in Amour, SD.

Maynard married Luetta Meyer Kirchhevel on July 3, 1965. They would be married 60 years in July. Maynard was a farmer for many years and worked at Timber Roots for 10 years.

He is survived by his wife, Luetta Kirchhevel; sons, Bruce Kirchhevel of Amarillo, TX, Scott (Trudy) Kirchhevel of Ethan, and Jeremy Kirchhevel of Mitchell; daughters, Monica Sorenson and Bridget Bame both of Mitchell; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Carla Kirchhevel; parents, Emil and Emma Kirchhevel; brothers, Bernard Kirchhevel, Arnold Kirchhevel, and Edwin Kirchhevel.
