Mary Lou Larson, 81, of St. Paul, MN, died Wednesday, June 5, 2024, in Sioux Falls under hospice care. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 12, at Bittner Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell.

Mary Lou Larson was born February 14, 1943, to Milo and Harriet (Vickers) Larson. Mary Lou grew up in Mt. Vernon, SD, and graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1961. After high school, Mary Lou graduated from Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell where she received her teaching degree. She then taught school for almost 20 years in Cottage Grove, MN. She then helped manage numerous apartment buildings with her beloved Roland H. Johnson.

Mary Lou was an avid gardener and took great pride in her flowers and her yard. She enjoyed shopping at green houses and relaxing in her gazebo admiring her flowers and plants. Mary Lou also enjoyed meeting at Hardy’s with her friends, and the many trips back to South Dakota with Roland to visit family and friends.

Mary Lou is survived by her significant other, Roland H. Johnson; sister, Lois Bamberg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Larson.
