Marie “Mary” G. Korzan was born October 12, 1931, on the family farm to Joesph and Anna (Petula) Bravek. She was the eldest of the Bravek children. Mary attended a rural school and graduated from Kimball High School in 1950.
On November 30, 1951, Mary was united in marriage to Richard Philip “Bucky” Korzan at St Margaret’s Catholic Church, and later raised three children: Janet, Cheryl, and Curtis. In 1973, Mary and Bucky built the Travelers Motel where she managed with her husband and family.
Mary was a very active and excellent bowler throughout her life, and she had the medals and trophies to prove it. She also would entertain her lady friends having card club.
Mary was happiest when she got to babysit her two grandsons when they were little. She always had the cookie jar full for them. The highlight of her life was being around her great-grandchildren.
Grateful for being part of her life is her surviving family: her daughters, Janet Korzan of Tucson, AZ, and Cheryl (Korzan) Lenker of Phoenix, AZ; daughter-in-law, Lorie Korzan of Kimball, SD; sisters, Betty (Jim) Hoing, Washington and Norma (Dennis) Wright, Idaho; two grandsons, Cody (Lynzi) Korzan and children Zaydi and Berhyt; and Corbin (Ashley) Korzan and children Kinley, Irelynn, and Rowyn all of Kimball, SD.
She was preceded in death by her husband, “Bucky”; son, Curtis; her parents; two sisters, Dorothy and Helen; brother, Ben; two brothers-in-law and a niece.
