Mabel Rowe, 102, of Mitchell, SD, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Doughtery Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, February 7, at Bittner Funeral Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Mitchell.
Mabel Monica Rowe was born December 18, 1922, to Dan and Frances (Morath) Schilling in White Lake, SD.
Mabel married the love of her life, Paul Rowe, and together, they began a lifelong journey of love and commitment that served as a foundation for building and sustaining their family. She was dedicated to her family and a devoted Catholic putting faith of the utmost importance.
She worked full-time caring for her children and was well known for her baking – especially of bread and pies, sewing clothes and a multitude of other tasks.
Mabel is survived by her children, Mary Harris of Mitchell, Duane Rowe of Mitchell, Joyce Swanson of Canton, SD, Diane (Paul) Swenson of Sioux Falls, Leann (Steve) Koford of Hutchinson, MN, Karen Wyatt of Sioux Falls, Doris (Arie) Bertsch of Minot, ND, and Jayne (Blaise) Fogarty of Hartford, SD; 30 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Rowe; daughter, Pauline Fogarty; and sons-in-law, Robert Harris and Roger Swanson.
