Lucille Marie Geisler was born September 23, 1929 to Charles and Alina (Vande Voorde) Stunes on the family farm in rural Davison County. She attended Goodwin School.

Lucille was united in marriage to Fred Geisler on January 10, 1950 in Letcher, SD. Together they lived and raised their family on a farm south of Artesian. In later years, they lived on an acreage near Mitchell, retired to an apartment in Mitchell, moved to Avera Brady Assisted Living, and recently became a resident in De Smet.

Lucille loved caring for children. She served 15 years as an infant foster home for Social services, and later served another 15 years in “Your Home” daycare service. She also worked at Syncom for five years.

Lucille enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, but mostly, little children. She was always happiest with a baby in her arms. Many of her families kept in contact through later years. Lucille enjoyed genealogy and spent much of her time researching family records. She loved searching out history of emigrant relatives of past years.

Rest In Peace sweet Lucille. I will always remember our first encounter. You instantly knew I belonged to the morgan clan, and shared many memories of my grand parents and great grandparents. You were such a joy to be around and always had a smile. No question that you made your appearance to those pearly gates. What a beautiful angel you will be! My thoughts go out to your loved ones. May He comfort you during this hard time.
