Linda was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother Linda, “Bud”, will always be remembered for the way in which she loved her family, her contagious smile, generosity, and her amazing sense of humor. She simply loved life to the fullest and took everyone on the journey with her.

Linda Sue Jirsa was born in Atlanta Georgia on October 3rd, 1954, the daughter of Ernest and Stella (Chapman) Swofford. She was the youngest of three siblings with sister Lora and brother Kenny. She was a star from the moment she was born, with a personality that was easy to love. Growing up, she loved cheerleading and became homecoming queen in her high school class of ’72.

She was blessed with twins, Jennifer and Joshua, while living in Georgia. In August of 1992, Linda married Larry Jirsa and moved from Georgia to Mitchell, SD and worked for Larry’s Architectural firm for 25 years which they started together.

During those years Linda raised her children, loved to travel, play golf, fish, road hunt, and shop, but most of all she loved visiting the beaches in Destin, FL with her whole family and decorating and hosting for the Christmas holiday. She never met a stranger, and her infectious personality always invited more friends into her life, as well as the lives of her children and beloved “Bud Sr”.

In 2021, Linda and Larry moved to Texas City, TX to be closer to their daughter while battling health problems. She lived a full life, surrounded with love up until the very end.

Sue was the coolest aunt ever! I was her sidekick from the time I could walk. We have so many memories and I will hold strong to those through this difficult time. The laughter we had, and even the arguments, always brought us closer. I will miss her so much and I am so thankful I got to see her before she gained her wings. I will see her again one day!! I love you Sue!

I met Linda at DCHS. We weren't close friends until she dated a good friend of mine and Eddy's. That is when we made so many happy memories. We kept in touch on FB and our school's website. Linda was an awesome person and I'll always remember her. Continued prayers for Larry and Family🙏💜

I'm very sad to hear of Linda's leaving the world. I knew her in high school, a vivacious and popular girl. She was friendly to everyone. Saw her again at one of our H.S. reunions. Still charming as always. One of the world's greatest smiles! Prayers for her loved ones and bless her soul on the next journey.
