Obituary

Leonard Nightingale, 82, of White Lake, SD, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Firesteel Healthcare Center in Mitchell. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, March 27, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in White Lake, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements by Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Leonard William Nightingale was born December 24, 1943, to George and Minnie (Holzhauser) Nightingale in White Lake, SD.

Leonard grew up and farmed his entire life with his brother south of White Lake. Leonard also enjoyed hunting.

Leonard is survived by his siblings: Delbert Nightingale, Marie Johnson, Doris Schnabel, Erwin Nightingale, and Deloris (Ron) Kelly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Minnie Nightingale, and in-laws: Devonna Nightingale, Charles Hoffman, Jerome Hoffman, Claire Johnson, Madonna Nightingale, and Robert Schnabel.
