Obituary

Lelund Schoon, 54, of Tripp, SD, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls. Visitations will be 5-7:00 PM Thursday, January 23, at Bittner Funeral Chapel with a 6:30 PM prayer service, and Friday, January 24, from 4-8:00 PM at the Tripp Fire Hall.

Lelund “Bones” Schoon was born August 3, 1970, to Coreen (Meyer) and Louis “Mike” Schoon in Parkston, SD. Bones worked at S & S General Store, Kaylor Grain, Hutchinson County Highway Department, JV’s, Kaylor Locker, and Frederich Trucking. He enjoyed shooting darts, fishing, camping, cooking and baking, and being with his friends. Bones was always up for trying new places to eat!

Lelund is survived by his mother, Coreen; father, Mike (Ann); sister, Katina (Chad) Voje; nephews, Robert and Scott Voje; step-grandmother, Leona Reimnitz; and several aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.
