Fjellestad on September 28, 1979. Tim's job required them to move to Kansas City (1979), Corpus Christi, Texas (1983) Lubbock, Texas (1985) and back to Kansas City (1992). Laurie was a big Kansas City Chiefs and Royals fan.
In 1995 they decided to move back to Sioux Falls and open Mr. Goodcents Subs and Pastas (now Goodcents Deli Fresh Subs). She was the ambassador of customer service, greeting customers by name, with suggestive selling and some good-natured kidding along with it. The employees of Goodcents respected her and reached out to her for advice and support. She was very proud of the numerous awards they won including Highest Dollar Volume of Delivery Sales (numerous years), Highest Dollar Catering Sales (numerous years) and Franchisee of the year for 2025.
Laurie loved her fur babies, Samantha (Border Collie mix), Dakota (Norwegian Elkhound), Neeka (Lab mix) and her current buddy Loki (Norwegian Elkhound).
She is survived by her husband, Tim Fjellestad; siblings David Hanson (Sonja), Diane Johnson, Jeane Murrie, Dan Hanson, John Hanson (Sue Peterson); and sister-in-law, Ellen Fjellestad (Nick Schwebach) She is also loved and will be missed by her nephews and nieces, Greg Johnson (Gloria), Amy Ode (Doug), Erin Doll (Tye), Teri Hanson, Chris Hanson (Sara), Kyle Kiepke (Wendy), Corey Kiepke, Tim Hanson (Amanda), Carrie Borgerding (Derrick), and many great nieces and nephews.
