Kenneth Kaldun, 81, of Salem, SD, formerly of Alexandria, SD, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Firesteel Healthcare Center in Mitchell. Funeral services will be at 11:30 AM Thursday, August 13, at Grace Reformed Church in Mitchell, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell. Arrangements by Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Kenneth Dean Kaldun was born November 17, 1944, to Sam and Clara (Herr) Kaldun in Wagner, SD. He attended Delmont Country School and worked for the Tripp Creamery. Kenneth married Cynthia Jo (Weisser) Kaldun on March 31, 1963, in Vermillion, SD. After their marriage, they moved to Alexandria, SD, and worked at the Morman Feed. He was trained in radio repair and spent one year serving in Korea.

Kenneth and Cynthia began driving truck full-time together in 1982. They drove all over the country to all but five states. In 2009, he retired from trucking and settled in the country near Epiphany, SD. Kenneth was an avid collector of model farm machinery and cars. He also enjoyed going to car shows.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Cynthia Kaldun of Salem; nephew, Darrick and family, and Natalie and family; nieces, Wendy and family, and Robin and family; sister-in-law, Judy Kaldun

He is preceded in death by siblings, Shirley, Roland, and Marvin; parents, Sam and Clara; in-laws, Sam (Lucille) Weisser; sister-in-law, Bonnie.
