Kathleene Hagen, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024, in Melbourne, FL at the age of 73. A funeral service to celebrate Kathleene’s Life will be held Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Plankinton United Methodist Church in Plankinton, SD, with visitation one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be at Mizpah Cemetery in Plankinton. It will be a time for family and friends to come together to honor her memory, share stories, and find solace in each other’s company. Arrangements by Bittner Funeral Chapel.
Kathleene Louise (Boyd) Hagen was born on June 15, 1950, in Denver, Co. Kathleene led a beautiful life, touching the hearts of those around her. Her passing has left a void in the lives of all who knew her. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Kenneth Boyd, and later found love again with her husband, William Hagen, who survives her.
She was a nurturing and caring mother to her children, whose lives she enriched with her wisdom and kindness. Kathleene also cherished her role as a grandmother, adoring all of her grandchildren. She also loved her many dogs and cats she had over the years, both raising from puppies or kittens and rescues as older animals.
In addition to her family, Kathleene had a passion for sewing, crocheting, and shopping. Her creativity and artistry shone through in the beautiful pieces she crafted, leaving a legacy of handmade treasures that will be cherished for generations to come.
Kathleene is survived by her husband, William Hagen; children, Kyndahl (Jason) Boyd Shields, Kari (Jerry) Boyd Peterson, Chandra (Tim) Hagen Ricks, and Jason (Pha) Hagen; grandchildren, Abby Peterson, Alison Shields, Ashley Peterson, Jai Ricks, and Kaden Ricks; and sister, Carole Nace.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Boyd, her parents, and two brothers.
Kathleene Louise Boyd Hagen will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing that continues to inspire those who were touched by her presence.
