Obituary

Justin Jurisch, 59, of Mitchell, SD, went to be with Jesus in Heaven on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at his home in Mitchell. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Justin Scott Jurisch was born on February 10, 1963, to Marlow and Rita (Klein) Jurisch in New Underwood, SD. Justin spent his early years on the family ranch near Scenic, SD, where riding horses was his greatest joy. He attended the Crippled Children's Facility for his primary education. Justin spent the majority of his life living at the Redfield South Dakota State School. He recently moved to Mitchell, SD to his LifeQuest home.

Justin had a love for ballcaps that provided him with many social endeavors (buying, trading & giving). He loved the sport of rodeo, horses, and eating out with family and friends. Justin's greatest talent was creating his wonderful art. He always looked forward to his important Sunday calls from his family. His family and friends will forever remember his most famous words.... "Guess what??? I got good news!!!"

Justin is survived by his siblings: Max Jurisch, Ruth (Dan) Filipek, Martin (Patricia) Jurisch, Ellen (Mirl) Searles, Russell Jurisch, Sueann (Chris) Trigg, and Nola (Rob) Morgan; great-aunt, Ruth "Janice" Mahoney; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

He now joins his parents, Marlow and Rita "Joanne" Jurisch in Heaven.

I never got to meet Justin in person but was able to appreciate his love for life and talents when his sister Ruth shared his art with the world. I just loved his eye. Heaven gained an artistic angel. May his family find comfort in knowing his savior.

I worked with Justin in Redfield. I shared his love of rodeos & enjoyed taking him to one a few years ago. He always had to show everyone he saw his hats, artwork & Special Olympics medals. Enjoy riding horses in heaven.

I loved being greeted with his "Guess what? I've got good news!". Justin was always so excited about whatever "news" he was sharing with you. I'm keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.

I loved working with Justin on some of the art and craft projects at LifeQuest and sharing a fist-bump and his interest in baseball caps that he had got while visiting family or going shopping. God's Speed and Blessings Justin!

I can only imagine what Justin saw when he entered the pearly gates in Heaven! It’s for certain that he’s with Jesus and all his loved ones there. I’m praying for you as his family and friends. I know how much you already miss Justin, but, remember you’ll see him again. I only knew how precious Justin is through his sister “Ellen”, and I can say that he sure is LOVED 😇 and Missed ♥️
