JoLynn L. Ruden, 79, of Buffalo, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Weerts Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024 at St Peter Catholic Church in Buffalo, IA. A second visitation will take place from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2024 at Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell, South Dakota. JoLynn will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Saint Mary Cemetery in Alexandria, South Dakota on Monday, July 29, at 11:00 AM. Memorials may be left to the family. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Clarissa C Cook Hospice House.

Jo was born on January 17, 1945 in Portland, OR to Frank Martish and Guenivere Kelsey. She was united in marriage to Robert Ruden on November 25, 1965 in Mitchell, South Dakota. They went on to have three children together and over 58 years in each other’s company. As a team, they owned and operated Rudens Carpet Cleaning and Dyeing for over 30 years. Bob passed on November 5, 2023.

Throughout her life, Jo most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a loyal person with a one-of-a-kind personality. Jo loved her weekly dinner nights with friends. She also found joy in hosting family visits at their Arizona residence. She was a faithful and active member of St Peter Catholic Church in Buffalo.

Survivors include her daughter, Tami (Steve) Stombaugh of LeClaire, IA; grandchildren, Austin (Kayla) Fielder of Davenport, Abbi (Eric) Metcalf of Davenport, Ansli (Brandon) August of Davenport; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Makynlee and Maverick Fielder, Kali, Madi, Lili Davis, and Isaac August; brother, Ken Martish of Mt. Vernon, SD, and several nieces and nephews.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; daughters, Darci and Tara Ruden, and her great-grandson, Nolan August.
