Obituary

Jerry Ramirez, 24, of Mitchell, SD, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2026, in Mitchell. Visitation will be 2-4:00 PM, Friday, May 1, 2026, at Bittner Funeral Chapel with a 3:30 PM prayer service.

Jerry Adam Ramirez was born on September 30, 2001, in Fontana, California, to Reina Morris. He and his family lived in Rialto, California, and in March 2024 relocated to South Dakota to build a life for his family.

Jerry married his childhood girlfriend, Jennifer Ramirez, on September 29, 2025, at the Mitchell Courthouse. Together, they were raising four children who were the center of his world: Jasiah (5), Melissa (3), Amirah (2), and infant son Jax (8 weeks).

Jerry enjoyed taking his kids to the parks, walking around the lake, and fishing. He loved spending time with his wife, kids, and family. Jerry started boxing at 13 years old in Rialto. Jerry loved watching scary movies, listening to country, rap, and alternative rock music. He was baptized at 10 months old at St. Bernardine’s Catholic Church in San Bernardino, California, in July 2002.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Jennifer Ramirez of Mitchell; children: Jasiah, Melissa, Amirah, and Jax Ramirez; mother, Reina Morris of Mitchell, SD; siblings, Maximiliano Alarcon of Solano, CA, Randy Bolton, Marcel Fields, and Matthew Mason of Rialto, CA; grandparents; great-grandfather, Jerry Garcia of Mitchell; grandfather, Michael Morris of Tennessee; and godfather, Michael Morris Jr. of Las Vegas, NV.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Maria Garcia; his godmother, Melissa Aguilar; and his nephew Joshua Cabrera.
