A word about Heath
I wish I was there in person to be with you all and to see and celebrate Heath’s love for God and love for each one of you.
Wow…tears begin to flow, as I stop and think of how Heath impacted me so much. He cared so deeply for me and my family, and He will be greatly missed until we see each other again—I look forward to that! He will be forever an uncle to my kids, and the friend who stuck by me, led me, and pointed me to Jesus.
Heath and I met in college.
We were quad-mates. From Day 1, Heath showed sincere interest in me. He cultured me in good music, and his favorite band, Driving and Crying—and we loved turning it up loud in our dorm room, out on the balcony to share with others, and especially in our cars driving wherever and whenever.
Heath and I took a road trip to Colorado for Spring Break. He took me skiing for the first time. We scotch-guarded our jeans, rented some skis, and Heath patiently taught me. What a memory!
I’m right now directing an English camp in the Czech Republic. I’ve been involved in doing summer camps since my first one in Russia.
It was Heath who challenged me to go on a mission’s trip to Russia in 1995. It was a life-altering experience, AND, I couldn’t have done it without Heath challenging me to GO, and his, alongside-approach, always pointing me to Christ’s faithfulness IN me
…This first trip completely changed the trajectory of my life. I would not be serving God in Czech if it hadn’t been for Heath.
Heath was the one who got real with His faith in College and He just invited me to do the same. To read the Bible and to Believe IT. He didn’t push or prod, He just led with compassion, and with the conviction that there was much more to following Christ, and that Christ wanted to do more IN me…If, I would give Him my life, and GO where He leads. In my case that was to GO Russia. My first trip led me to living in Russia for a year and a half—just like Heath had done, and then, I transitioned to doing summer camps in Czech, and NOW, my family and I have been in Czech for over 20 years. Heath came to Czech and visited us several times and was so supportive and encouraging…AND, I would often tell him. I couldn’t help it when I thought about where I was going, or where I wasn’t going, when he stepped into my life!
Something for free…don’t miss that opportunity today to tell someone how much they have meant to you in your life!
Of course, God is good and faithful, but without Heath’s friendship and His faithfulness to call me out, I would not be where I am, with God, or with God’s purpose in my life. I’m sure that is an echoing theme today—thank you God, for Heath.
I’m missing you Heath, as many of us are. I’m so thankful for you, my friend. THANK YOU for being faithful to Christ, and faithful to me. I will strive to be a friend like you and a person that SEES others, immigrants and refugees, people from other places, other backgrounds, and those with all kinds of troubles. I will show sincere interest and point them to Christ and His mandate to GO, to care, and to tell others about Him.
I’m thinking of you all there; I would love to say all of your names out-loud, just like Heath knew each one of you.
—praying for you, trusting God to give you His comfort and peace.
God is good…and WE ALL have experienced His goodness through Heath, a son, a brother, an uncle, a co-worker, a real friend, and a follower of Christ!
Love from Jason, Kerensa, Mollyn and Niam McFrederick

Holding your family in my prayers. So sorry that you have to say goodbye. This is something a parent never wants to do. I have fond memories working with Heath at Vantagepoint.

I have learned in this journey so far that the pain is worth it because we have lived so deeply.
