Edward “Ed” Weber was born on June 6, 1949, in Parkston, to Edward and Hilda (Ehler) Weber. Known to many as “Bud,” he was the youngest of 14 children and grew up on the family farm in Dimock, SD. After graduating from Parkston High School in 1967, he attended Southern State College in Springfield, SD before answering the call to serve his country in the United States Army.

Following his military service, Bud returned home to help on the family farm and later worked in the general construction industry. He eventually began a career that spanned three decades with Toshiba Inc, where he remained until his retirement in July 2017.

In the Fall of 1972, Ed married the love of his life, Janet (Pontow) Weber. Together, they built a beautiful life in Mitchell and raised their family. Ed was a man of many interests and talents. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, gardening, and spending time outdoors. He could often be found working in his garage, riding horses, or simply enjoying the fresh air. Ed was also a dedicated member of the Moose Lodge and the American Legion.

Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Janet; his children, Shane (Nicole) Weber of Sioux Falls and Ashley (Hunter) Fritsch of Sioux Falls; his siblings, Monica Horstman of Dimock, Rosie Jarding of Alexandria, Pat Mogck of Parkston, Tina (Eldon) Hohn of Dimock, LeeTee (Ron) Koch of Parkston, Marge Lang of Platte, Millie (Tim) Wermers of Dimock, and Tom (Jeanne) Weber of Dimock; along with five cherished grandchildren: Brylee, Jack, Charleston, Bohde and Crosby Weber.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Hilda Weber; his siblings, Marie Kummer, Bert Thuringer, Agnes Weber, Nellie Hohn, and Ivan Weber; as well as several beloved family members, dear friends, and a few good horses.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery, C/O Steve Weber, 121 W 1st St, Dimock, SD 57331.

Oh Jan, we are so sorry to learn of Ed's passing. Jon has so many great memories from all the years of working together. They spent 2 weeks in Japan together where his favorite place to dine was the Happy Tiger. He was a great guy who will be missed by all who knew him!
