Obituary

Dwight Wittstruck, 68, of Mitchell, SD, died Saturday, December 28, 2024, at his home under hospice care in Mitchell. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Friday, January 3, at Bittner Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Servicemen’s Memorial Cemetery in Mitchell.

Dwight I. Wittstruck was born November 21, 1956, in Mitchell, SD, to Frank and Viola (Powers) Wittstruck. He graduated from Mitchell Senior High School in 1975. He attended Nettleton Business College and later Dakota Wesleyan University. Dwight joined the U.S. Army in 1981. He was stationed in Fort Myer, Virginia as an Army Intelligence Officer. He was honorably discharged in 1985. Dwight worked at the Daily Republic for 22 years.

Dwight is survived by his brother, Kenneth Wittstruck.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and sister-in-law, Mary Jo Wittstruck.

Very sad to hear this news. Dwight was a gentle spirit with a quiet disposition. He was very insightful and I valued his input on many issues. I have many good memories of time we spent together.
