Obituary

Donald DeBoer, 61, of Mitchell, SD, passed away Friday, March 20, 2026, in Mitchell. Visitation will be Thursday, March 26, from 4-6:00 PM at Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Donald Joseph DeBoer was born on May 3, 1964, in Mitchell, SD, to Robert and Sheila DeBoer.

Donald lived a life of hard work, dedication, and deep love for his family. He was a devoted son, father, grandfather, and friend who found joy in the simple, meaningful moments, whether it was working the land, driving the open road, fixing up vehicles, or sharing stories with those he loved. He had a passion for farming and trucking, and he took great pride in everything he did with his hands. He was especially grateful to have worked alongside his father for many years, a time he truly cherished and held close to his heart.

He especially cherished time spent hunting, traveling, and being surrounded by friends and family. Donald had a way of making people feel welcome and valued. He will be remembered for his kindness, his quick wit and sense of humor, his quiet strength, and his generous heart. He was someone others could depend on, and his presence brought comfort and laughter to those around him.

Donald was united in marriage to Jodi Triebwasser on May 16, 1997. Together, they shared 22 years of marriage and were blessed with three wonderful children, who were the pride and joy of his life.

Above all, Donald loved his family deeply. He took great pride in his children and grandchildren, and nothing meant more to him than the time spent with them. His legacy will live on through the lessons he taught, the memories he created, and the love he gave so freely.

Donald is survived by his loving mother, Sheila DeBoer; children, Derek, Destenie, Dallas, and bonus son, Arthur Henry; his cherished grandchildren, Aubree and Vanna; significant other, Kiki; sisters, Susie (David) Hagerty and Michelle Erickson; nieces, Makayla Hagerty and Makenzie (Michael) Reichelt.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert DeBoer.
