Obituary

Dennis Soulek, 70, of Kimball, SD, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Sanford Chamberlain Medical Center in Chamberlain, SD. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Friday, April 17, at Kimball Protestant Parish in Kimball, SD. Burial will be at Kimball Cemetery in Kimball.

Dennis Lee Soulek was born on July 9, 1955, to Melvin and Eileen (Richardson) Soulek in Chamberlain, SD. He attended Kimball High School and graduated in 1973. On March 21, 1980, he was united in marriage to Sherrie Koranda at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kimball.

Dennis worked at Mid-Way Truck Stop and Luke and Sons Construction, crushing rock, eventually retiring from his work with the City of Pukwana.

Dennis is survived by his children: Jamie, Jesse, Justin, Josh, Zachary, Amanda, and McKenzi Soulek all of Kimball, and Abby Soulek of Omaha, NE; brothers, Randy Soulek of Rapid City, and Frank Soulek of Mitchell; along with 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherrie Soulek; parents, Melvin and Eileen Soulek; four brothers; and one grandson.

I was a classmate of Dennis and knew his whole family. For a time we were also neighbors.. Dennis was always a friendly kid and I am sorry for your loss. Our prayers go out to your family. Tim Bjorkman

I so enjoyed visiting with him when we lived in Pukwana!
