Della Schulz, 97, of Mitchell, SD, died Monday, January 29, 2024, at Avera Bormann Manor in Parkston. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Friday, February 2, at Zion Lutheran Church in Mitchell with a visitation one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Alexandria, SD. Arrangements by Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Della Lucille Schulz was born August 15, 1926 in rural Fulton, SD to Detlef and Anna (Hargens) Grohmann. She married Raymond Schulz on September 1, 1948. They lived on a farm south of Emery until settling on a farm north of Alexandria. After Raymond’s passing in January of 2000, Della continued to live on the farm until 2015 when she moved into Mitchell, where she resided until December 2023. She then moved to Bormann Manor in Parkston.

Della is survived by her son, Gerald Schulz and his children, Wendy, Rayanna, and Jered (Heather); daughter, Joanne (James) Schorzmann and their children, Joshua (Katie), Heidi (Sam) Drown, Andrew, and Adam (Ashley); and great-grandchildren: Morgan, Halle, Avrie, Maverick, Kylie, Charlotte, Greyson, Archer, Eleanor, Lucille, Silas, Milo, Della, and Theodore.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Raymond; sister, Doris Grohmann; brother, Arnold Grohmann; daughter-in-law, Barb Schulz; and great-grandson, Samuel Drown.

The family would like to thank Avera Hospice and the Bormann Manor for the excellent care Della received.
