Craig Tegethoff, 55, Mitchell, died Thursday, March 23, 2017 at his home under the care of hospice. Visitation and scripture services will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Mitchell, on Tuesday, March 28, from 5-8:00 pm with a scripture service at 7:30 pm. Arrangements are with the Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell.
Craig Scott Tegethoff was born April 12, 1961 to Bernard and Patricia (Lanctot) Tegethoff in Mitchell, SD. He worked at Pepsi while attending Mitchell High School. He later worked at McLeod’s Printing for many years. Craig started working as a skilled carpenter for his father’s construction company, and when his father retired he worked as a self-employed carpenter for the remainder of his later years.
Craig was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener (everyone loved his homemade salsa), and lover of the outdoors. His property was always known for the animals walking around freely including chickens, guineas, and his iconic peacocks. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Mitchell.
He is survived by his son, Nic Tegethoff, Mitchell; his parents; three brothers: Rick (Roxanne) Tegethoff, James (Kay) Tegethoff, and Bernie William (Danita) Tegethoff; three sisters: Cindy (Bruce) Trebil, Pam (Dan) Roeder and Tracy (Kathy DeWald) Tegethoff and many nieces and nephews.
