Obituary

Cindy Bork, 62, of Mitchell, SD, died Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 26, at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, SD.

Cynthia “Cindy” Joanne Bork was born on June 4, 1962, to Robert and Joanne (Johnson) Streeter. Cindy was the 3rd of 5 children all born Viroqua, WI.

Cindy’s career was hospitality bartending, later in her career she was a cook at Mt Vernon High School and loved interacting with the kids and staff. Cindy was an exceptional artist and loved painting, drawing and intricate doodle art.

Cindy is survived by her husband Ernie of Mt. Vernon, SD, daughter Randi (Scott) Pietz of Mitchell, SD. Two grandchildren: Sean and Tucker Pietz. Preceding Cindy in death were her parents, son Hunter and brother John.

Cindy will be laid to rest on Saturday Oct 26 at 11am at the Mt Vernon Cemetery in Mt. Vernon. Meal following at MV Firehall community room.

I worked with Cindy years ago but I will always remember how genuine her smile was. She was always very kind to me. I'm so sorry for your loss. Gone way too soon.

I am so sorry about Cindy's passing--your entire family has my deepest sympathy. I really got to know her when she worked for us in the kitchen at school. She was very special, dependable, a sweet lady and friend. May God comfort you during this difficult time
