Charles "Chuck" Jones
Dates
October 15, 1948 - October 28, 2024Obituary
Charles “Chuck” Jones, 76, of Kimball, SD, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, October 28, 2024.
Chuck was born on October 15, 1948, to Leonard and Hazel Jones in Miller, SD. After losing his mother at birth, he was then raised by his fraternal aunt Mae Peirce in Bemidji, MN until the age of five. At that time, his father married Fern Keenahan, and he then resided in Huron, SD with brothers Larry Jones and Rory Keenahan, until two more siblings were added to the family shortly after that, a bother, Leonard Jr., and a little sister, Lori.
On June 12, 1967, he married the love of his life, Mary North. A few years later, they purchased a welding shop in White Lake, SD, where they lived and raised their three children, Sharon, Charles Jr., and Dale. In 1980, Chuck purchased a mechanic shop in Kimball, and a year later moved his family to the town he has called home for the last 43 years. He worked hard to provide for his family and was always there with a helping hand when someone needed it. Chuck loved to go hunting, fishing, camping, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He will be missed greatly.
He leaves behind and will forever be in the hearts of his wife, Mary; children, Sharon (Jack) Christensen, Charles (Andra) Jones, and Dale (Peggy) Jones; grandchildren, Robert Christensen, Logan (Ivy) Christensen, Alexandria Jones, Ashley Jones, and Grace Jones; great-grandchildren, Jack Christensen, Elenore Christensen, and Parker Jones; sister, Lori (Ray) Keller; brother, Rory Keenahan; nephews, Jason and Allen Jones; along with many extended family and friends.
Chuck is preceded in death by his parents; his aunt, Mae; his second mom, Fern Jones; brothers, Larry and Leonard Jones; sister-in-law, Florence (Babes) Jones; and father and mother-in-law, Darwin and Ann North.
Chuck requested not to have a service. In lieu of flowers or cards, he would have asked you to donate to the Kimball Fire Department.
He will be missed around Kimball. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES
