Brian was born August 12, 1965, in Miller, SD to Eugene and Dessie (Fanning) Price. He was the sixth son and one of seven children. He grew up in Miller, where he attended elementary, middle and high school. Brian was involved in Boy Scouts and achieved the organization’s highest rank of Eagle Scout. It was during these early years that Brian learned about business and hard work from his father while working in the family’s business, Price and Sons Construction.
In 1985, Brian enlisted in the Army National Guard, completing his basic training in Fort Sill, OK. He completed officer training in Anniston, AL and was commissioned as a First Lieutenant in 1994. He served for a total of 15 years and was discharged in August of 2000.
Brian attended Northern State University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in biology in 1991. It was at NSU where he met the love of his life, Lynda Korzan. Brian and Lynda were married on September 12, 1992, in Chamberlain, SD. They settled in Aberdeen for the first part of their lives together then moved to Kimball where Brian farmed with his father-in-law for several years. Job opportunities led them to the Minneapolis area where they lived for 13 years.
Brian and Lynda were blessed with three children, Mitchell, Madison, and Ethan. Brian was a family man and his love for his family was evident. He supported and encouraged his children and enjoyed being involved in their activities.
In 2009, Brian and Lynda moved back to South Dakota. Brian was a visionary and had a passion for entrepreneurship. He saw a need to help protect the livelihood of farmers and ranchers across rural America. Brian’s idea of On Sight 24/7 was developed in 2012. Today, you’ll find On Sight 24/7 security systems protecting over 1,500 customers across the United States including farms, ranches, residential, commercial, schools and hospitals.
Brian found joy in restoration projects. Together, he and Lynda renovated several buildings to support business development in the Mitchell area. They also purchased Brian’s former family home in Miller and turned it into an Airbnb so others could spend time in a home that gave him such great joy and memories in his childhood.
Brian was a funny guy and will be remembered for his sense of humor. He loved joking around with people and making them laugh, and he wasn’t afraid to joke about himself.
Brian lived a full and rewarding life. He was an optimist and tackled everything he did with hard work, enthusiasm and determination. He was grateful for his family and all that he was able to experience and accomplish.
Brian is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Lynda; children, Mitchell (Olivia Marinella), Madison, and Ethan; brothers, Dana (Kim) Price, Brad (Amanda) Price, Craig (Dawn) Price, Shane (Ronda) Price, Chris (Beth) Price; sister, Gina (Mike) Ortmeier; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who were blessed to share his life.
Brian was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Price, and his mother, Dessie Price, his father-in-law, Gene Korzan, and mother-in-law, Betty Korzan.
