Obituary

Bobbie Aulner, 46, of Alexandria, SD, died Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM Saturday, March 4, at St. Mary of Mercy Catholic Church in Alexandria. Burial will be in St. Mary of Mercy Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7:00 PM at the Church with a 7:00 PM prayer service. Arrangements by Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Bobbie Reneé Aulner was born on July 18, 1976, in Mitchell, to Larry and Judi (VenOsdel) Kunkel. She grew up in Hanson County, attended Hanson School and graduated in 1994. After graduation, she worked as a welder, and graduated in 2007 from Mitchell Technical Institute with an accounting/computer degree and also received the “Spirit of MTI” award. She later held a number of accounting positions.

On August 1, 2003, she married Richard Aulner in St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Emery, SD. Bobbie enjoyed family time, children, camping, traveling, cooking, crafting, animals, and laughing.

Grateful for sharing her life is her husband, Richard; her two children, Stephanie and Jonathan Aulner; parents, Larry and Judi Kunkel; brother, Travis (Melody) Kunkel of Alexandria; sister, Billie (Eric) McKillop of Gillette, WY; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents and, most recently, her father-in-law Ronnie Aulner.

I was SO sorry to hear of Bobbies death..I will always remember her at Farmer school.. I taught her in Kindergarten and she was hso cute…and talked all the time..she was one of special ones I will always remember!My very deepest sympathy to all of you.. so very hard to lose ones we love so dearly!😘🙏

Heaven gained a great one in Bobbie. She was such a unique person, she never left you wondering what she thought or how she felt about something. Rich and kids, I am sure that you have many memories of her as anyone who knew her most likely does, but find comfort that she is pain free and you are sure to have one of the most amazing and feisty guardian angels there is.
