Alice Lehman, 91, of Mitchell, SD, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Firesteel Healthcare Center in Mitchell. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM Monday, November 4, at First United Methodist Church in Mitchell. The burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-3:00 PM at First United Methodist Church with a 2:30 PM prayer service.
Alice F. Lehman was born September 9, 1933, to Walter and Minnie (Hale) Alumbaugh in Highmore, SD. She attended a country school near Highmore and graduated from Highmore High School.
Alice was united in marriage to Clyde Lehman on June 20, 1953, at First United Methodist Church in Mitchell. To this union, three daughters were born, Dianne, Joanne, and Jeannette.
Alice worked at the Methodist Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital, Sunshine Food Market, County Fair, Helping Hands, and worked in home healthcare. She was a member of First United Methodist Church Circle, Town and Country Extension Club, American Legion Auxiliary, lifetime member of the VFW, Farm Bureau Cowbells, home day care provider, and 4-H leader.
Alice is survived by her daughters, Dianne Lehman of Mitchell, Joanne (Louis) Schoenfelder of Ethan, and Jeannette Knigge of Mitchell; grandchildren, Ashley (Jared) Digmann, Joe (Katie) Schoenfelder, Alicia (Cody) Gramkow, and ten great-grandchildren; and brother, Donald (Cheryl) Alumbaugh of Custer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Lehman; her parents; grandson, Jason Knigge; siblings, Kenneth Alumbaugh, Helen Dalton; and sisters-in-law Lois Alumbaugh and Ollie Alumbaugh, and brother-in-law, Floyd Dalton.
