Obituary

Alan Bellamy, 72, of Mitchell, SD, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at his home in Mitchell. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, May 16, at First United Methodist Church in Mitchell. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7:00 PM at Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Alan Cleophus Bellamy was born in Chicago, Illinois, to John Bellamy Sr. and Viola Miles. On March 25, 1989, Alan married Elaine Bellamy at Christ Temple Church in Maywood, Illinois.

Alan is survived by his wife, Elaine Bellamy; children, Alexander Benson of Mitchell, SD, Antonio Benson of Chicago, IL, and Alan Bellamy Jr. of Maywood, IL, Maleika Jackson of Mitchell, SD; Nikia Pruitt of Parkston, SD; and Tierra Bellamy of Mitchell, SD; brother, John Bellamy Jr., along with 16 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Viola Bellamy.
