Obituary

Jason Weisser, 51, of Chicago, IL, died Monday, July 18, 2022, at Elmhurst Hospital in Chicago. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, July 30 at Bittner Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell.

Jason Lee Weisser was born January 13, 1971 to Myron and Jenise (Jamtgaard) Weisser in Parkston, SD. Jason grew up in Mitchell, SD and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1989. After high school, he attended Dakota State University and Mankato State University for computer science. He then moved to Chicago where he attended Tech Skills Institute to gain more certification with his IT degree and Hansen Real Estate School acquiring his real estate license.

Jason was united in marriage to Helen Young on September 14, 2003, in Chicago, IL. To this union, they had one son, Tyler.

One of Jason’s passions was computers. He enjoyed rebuilding computers and working as an IT Tech. He also loved hunting, fishing, cooking, and carpentry projects. Jason enjoyed bike rides along Lake Michigan and would fix old bikes to give to others. His friendly and outgoing personality along with his dry sense of humor led Jason to many friendships.

Jason is survived by his wife, Helen; son, Tyler of Chicago; mother, Jenise Weisser of Mitchell; sister, Angela (Bryan) Harberts of Emery; nephews, Jamon (Alisha) Harberts of Watertown and Jackson Harberts of Emery; niece, Hannah Harberts of Yankton; great-nephew, Peyton Harberts of Watertown; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Myron Weisser; grandparents, Rheinhold Weisser, Arnold and Emma Geidel, Robert and Betty Jamtgaard; aunt, Nita Anderes; and two cousins.
