Doris Darlene Lunde was born May 13th, 1929, in Mitchell SD to George and Emma (Bunge) Hanneman. Her father owned Hanneman Grocery in Mitchell where Doris spent significant time while growing up. She graduated from Mitchell High School in 1947. After High School, she was employed at Bell Telephone as a directory assistance operator. During this time, she met Keith Lunde at Commercial Bank, where he was employed as a teller. On June 19, 1955, she married Keith Lunde at Zion Lutheran Church in Mitchell. She worked until shortly before her first son was born in 1959. She doted over her two children. Keith and Doris enjoyed taking their boys camping, fishing, and hunting. They were active in their church and in the community.
After Keith retired in 1989, they enjoyed spending their winters in Arizona in the RV. Summers were spent at their home in Mitchell, attending RV rallies, and camping with their friends. She was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church. In 2014 they gave up their motorhome and stopped traveling to Arizona for the winters. Keith passed away in February of 2015.
In April of 2018, she moved to Salt Lake City Utah to be closer to her son, Brian, daughter-in-law, Sue, and her two grandsons, Ty and Cole. She resided at the Wellington (assisted living facility), and very much enjoyed spending her time with new friends and family.
