Obituary

Delores Lippert, 93, of Mitchell, died Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. Funeral Services will be 1:30 PM Tuesday, February 14, at Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 14, from 10:30 AM till the time of service at Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Delores Lippert was born November 2, 1929 on a farm northeast of Tripp, SD to Emanuel and Margaret (Stoebner) Reiner. She grew up on the farm at Tripp and attended country school. On February 8th, 1949, she married Arnold Lippert in Tripp. They farmed in the Tripp and Delmont areas until moving to Mitchell, SD in 1963. Delores worked at the Methodist hospital in Mitchell.

Delores possessed a strong desire for continuous learning. A voracious reader herself, she stressed the value of education. All her children attended the University of South Dakota (USD). In 1984, Delores and Arnold Lippert were honored as "Parents of the Year" by USD.

Delores was gifted with the ability to nurture plants and flowers to magnificent beauty. She received many compliments, culminating with the "Yard of the Month" award. Her legacy will live on for many generations through flowers passed on to family and friends.

She is survived by her five children: Duane of Mitchell, Brenda (Dale) Stevens of Sioux Falls, Brian (Lisa) Lippert of Cedar Falls, IA, Ardis Lippert of Sioux Falls, Kevin (Tami) Lippert of Sioux Falls, 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Arlene (Reiner) Kost of Parkston.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold in 2015, her parents, and a sister, Gladys Reiner.

I sang at your parents' wedding. I was only twelve years old. They rented my Dad's house when they were first married. I was a classmate of Arlene, Delores' sister.

She was a customer and a friend. Her biggest secret she wouldn’t tell us her age but we’d teaser anyway. She worked awful hard with the flowers in yard. I will miss her very enjoyable person. I didn’t know in time or I would have been there. Sympathy to the family
