Obituary

Dean Wolfe, 59, of Plankinton, SD, died Saturday, January 29, 2022, at his home in Plankinton. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM Friday, June 9, at St. John Catholic Church in Plankinton. Burial will be at St. Margaret Catholic Cemetery in Kimball. Arrangements by Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Dean “Roscoe” Allen Wolfe was born October 25, 1962, to James and Rose (Pazour) Wolfe in Mitchell, SD. He attended Plankinton High School and graduated in 1981.

Dean worked for a local dairy farmer and Bickley Honey Company before going to the University of South Dakota at Springfield, where he studied heating and air conditioning. He then worked for Tessier’s Heating and Air Conditioning in Mitchell for a few years. Then he went on to be a welder fabricator and later a supervisor at Trail King Industries in Mitchell for over 25 years.

Dean enjoyed mentoring the many people who needed him, his family, and friends. He loved camping and fishing with his friends, and going to Canada to his favorite fishing hole.

Grateful for sharing his life are his mother, Rose Wolfe; brother, Doug Wolfe of Mitchell; sister, Linda (Hodges) of Goldendale, WA; niece, Kathy Ann (Justin) Woodruff Tchida of Glendive, MT; three great-nieces, Annabelle, Avery, and Allison Tchida all of Glendive, MT; great-nephew, Odin Tchida of Glendive, MT; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, James, and nephew, Kyle Woodruff.

Dean always had a smile on his face and a joke in his pocket. I remember the day he graduated from high school, I have pictures. He was a happy guy that day. We both offer Rose, Doug, and Linda our sincere sympathy.

With sympathy, love and prayers. Dean was a heck of a guy; sweet gentle cousin and Greg remembers his kindness, skills at Trail King and knows how important his mentoring was to so many. RIP
