Marcella E. Wolf was born November 6, 1916 on a farm north of White Lake to Matt and Lena (Mueller) Kirsch. She attended school at St. Peter’s Catholic School and graduated from White Lake High School. She attended Notre Dame College in Mitchell and then began teaching in rural country schools. On May 20, 1941 she married Alvin Wolf. They lived on a farm south of White Lake. Marcella went back to school so that she could receive her State Teachers Certificate. In 1964 she retired from teaching and a few years later they moved to Parkston. In 1996 she moved to Howard to live with her daughter and family. She was a member of St. Agatha Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Rose Kieffer and husband, Larry of Howard; daughter-in-law, Lois Wolf of Parkston; eighteen grandchildren, forty-eight great-grandchildren, eleven great-great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and ten step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin in 1981, two children in infancy, Louise and Donald, two sons: Francis and Kenneth, three sisters: Cecelia Speelman, Marie Schmitt and Kathryn Markley, one grandson and two great-granddaughters.
