Leonard Eric Storm was born February 6, 1922 in Douglas County to Gustav and Caroline (Sperlich) Storm. He was baptized and confirmed at Saint John Lutheran Church. He attended country grade school and Parkston High School. He attended Grand Island Business College earning a business degree. He spent four months at the War Department in Washington DC. He was then drafted. On September 17, 1944 he married Lucille Marie Jurgensen. They farmed in Davison County and moved to Parkston in 1986.
He served as Sunday School teacher, served on the country school board, the Davison County School Board and the Ethan Elevator Board.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille, seven children: Richard (Bonnie) Storm, Sioux City, IA; Carol (James) Faulstich, Highmore; Myron Storm, New Town, ND; Kevin Storm, Yankton; Monica (Todd) Fiegen, Ethan; Laurie (Robert) Young, Mitchell and Tim (Vickie) Storm, Ethan; daughter-in-law, Bev (Doug) Mueller, Mt. Vernon; 31 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren; his brother, Gerhard (Lorraine) Storm, his sister, Doris Gerlach and sister-in-law, Adeline Storm.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Leon.
