Adella Josephine Wieczorek


February 6, 1920 - November 27, 2011


Adella Josephine Wieczorek entered this life on February 6, 1920, at Woonsocket, SD, to Nicholas and Magdalena (Oe) Thill. She grew up and attended school at Woonsocket and Mount Vernon. On June 6, 1942, she married Herbert Wieczorek in Mount Vernon. They farmed south of Mount Vernon and she custom harvested with her husband for many years. They moved into Mount Vernon in 1976. For several years Adella & Herb bought, renovated and sold real estate in California. She was a lifetime member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Mount Vernon. She touched the lives of many young people in the Mount Vernon community. She had a passion and love for flowers and landscaping and wouldn’t stop till she pulled the last weed. She was a special mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. Besides enjoying her family, she loved playing cards and looked forward to the annual pheasant hunt.

She is survived by seven children: Ron and wife Deanna Wieczorek of Mount Vernon; John and wife Pat Wieczorek of Mount Vernon; Bill and wife Charmaine Wieczorek of Hesperia, CA; Rocky and wife Deb Wieczorek of Mount Vernon; Connie Wenning of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA; Pat and husband Dick Collins of Mitchell, SD; Jeannie and husband Robert Hockett of Pierre, SD; 21 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and one sister, Marguerite Kilcoin. She was preceded in death by her husband Herbert in 1980, her parents, two brothers and four sisters.

So sorry to hear about Adella; she was one spirted lady and we had alot of good times together when I lived in Mt Vernon.
