Janet Metz, 78, of Mitchell, SD formerly of Parkston, died Sunday, May 10, 2020 at her home in Mitchell. A private, family funeral service will be held. Burial will be in Servicemen's Memorial Cemetery in Mitchell. Arrangements by Bittner Funeral Chapel.
Janet Mae Metz was born on September 3, 1941 to Michael and Julianna (Boehmer) Tischler in Parkston, SD. She attended Parkston High School. After high school Janet moved to Texas, and eventually moved back to Mitchell. She, also, lived in Yuma, AZ.
In 1960 Janet married Howard Bolling, and together they had two children, Lawana and Troy.
Janet worked at Marlin’s, KFC, and owned 12 Mile Corner Bar. Janet enjoyed spending time with family, and raising dogs and birds.
Janet is survived by her daughter, Lawana (Blane) Pierson; stepchildren, Jim “Tony” (Kathy) Metz, and Tammy Metz; grandchildren, Erin, Casey (Aimee), Nikki, and Jayden; great-granchildren, Blakeleigh, Gunner, Robert, Tillie, and Wesley; sister, Pat (Fred) Kobald; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim Metz; son, Troy Bolling, sister, Peggy Metz, and brothers, James Tischler and Donald Tischler.
