Obituary

Lillian M. Weins went to her heavenly home on January 17, 2020 at the age of 96 at Avera Brady Health and Rehab in Mitchell.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Mitchell.

Lillian M. Weins was born on June 13, 1923 in Mitchell, SD, where she spent her entire life. She attended Notre Dame School. On October 7, 1941, Lillian married Edward Weins, and the couple enjoyed 73 years together. They farmed outside of Mitchell for 28 years and also owned the Weins Meat Locker. She always worked alongside of Ed. She also was a Nurses Aid at St. Joseph Hospital.

Lillian was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and St. Margaret Altar Society. She loved shopping and doing crafts with her friends. Lillian loved spending time with her family, camping, and her cats.

Grateful for having shared her life are her five children, Leo (Mary) Weins, CO, Sharon (Roger) Bastian, AZ, John (Linda) Weins, CO, Pete (Marlys) Weins, Mitchell, Paul Weins, CO; eleven grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Alberta Baldwin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, on March 11, 2015; parents; one brother; four sisters; and two daughters-in-law.
