Obituary

Janet Wipf, 52, of Mitchell, SD, died Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Friday, December 27, 2019 at Zion Lutheran Church in Mitchell. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 PM Thursday, December 26, at Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell, with a 6:30 PM Prayer Service. Arrangements by Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Janet Renee Wipf was born on March 26, 1967 in Sioux Falls, SD, to Darrold and Alice (Marquardt) Keiper. She graduated from Emery High School in 1986 and attended Votech in Mitchell. Janet Married Samuel Wipf on September 29, 1990, in Clayton, SD. She managed Wheel Inn, M&H, and most recently Graham’s Sinclair.

She is survived by her husband, Samuel Wipf, Mitchell; daughter, Megan Wipf, Mitchell; son, Cody, Mitchell; and brother, DeWayne (Dort) Keiper, Lennox.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

I really wanted to go to the funeral but I just now read about it it’s 1:20 PM and I totally missed it! Janet was a very special person beautiful inside and out with a wonderful smile! I really wanted to be there.

Heartbreaking... I’m incredibly saddened by your loss of Janet!! She & I got to know each other well as I adopted 1 of her beautiful dachshunds ( Stella), She was always a joy to chat with & we could have been friends forever!! May the Lord Christ Jesus wrap you & hold you in this extremely difficult time of grief! You’ll be in my thoughts & prayers for years to come!!

Janet will always hold a very special place of love and appreciation in my heart as she helped me find my Mother! We also teased each other that we were going to ride sidecar out to Sturgis someday. “ I guess you will have to save a seat next to you in that sidecar in heaven my friend and wait until I get there! We really will be able to fly then!”
