Maxine Tronnes, was born on October 11, 1948 in St Paul, MN to Eli and Ardythe (Patterson) Chupurdia. She married David Tronnes on May 21, 1976, in Webster, SD. The couple traveled for Dave's work for many years until they settled in Mitchell with their four kids when Dave started working at Toshiba in 1990. Maxine and Dave bought their current house in 1999 when they started collecting a large variety of antiques.

Since moving to Mitchell, Maxine became very passionate for hockey in South Dakota. She worked for the South Dakota Amateur Hockey Association for many years; scheduling games and doing administrative work.

Maxine was kind, generous, and supportive. Family was everything to Max. She was always a sounding board to her kids and willing to listen, give advice, and support them.

She loved helping with grandkids and going to their activities. She had a great love for Christmas every year, and loved buying presents for everyone and decorating the house. She also enjoyed tending to her flower beds.

Maxine and Dave loved visiting their cabin in the Black Hills and collecting antiques.

She is survived by her husband, David Tronnes; children, Ben (Leslie) Tronnes, Colorado Springs, CO, Chris (Kira) Tronnes, Mitchell, SD, and Lisa (Eric) Nielson, Irene, SD; 12 grandchildren; brother, Jim (Maxine) Chupurdia, Lutsen, MN; sister, Vicki Chupurdia, Duluth, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
