Siegfried Franz Georg Noack

June 7, 1927 - November 15, 2019

Siegfried Franz Georg Noack, age 92 of Mitchell (formerly of Artesian) passed away on Friday, November 15th at Avera Brady Health and Rehab. His celebration of life will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, November 19th at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Mitchell.   Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Monday, November 18th at Bittner Funeral Chapel with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service.

Siegfried Franz Georg Noack was born June 7, 1927 in Artesian, South Dakota, to Arthur Emil Max Noack and Elisabeth (Elise) Johanna (Bruske) Noack. He grew up in rural Artesian and attended country school. Siegfried served in the US Army during the Korean War.  He was a lifelong member of the American Legion.  Siegfried met Gladys Marie Kludt through mutual friends. Siegfried and Gladys were married on May 24, 1957. They began their 61 years of marriage on a farm near Artesian where they raised their four children. Together they raised cattle, hogs, chickens, and grew crops.  Siegfried loved the farm, raising cattle, and especially loved playing in the dirt.  After 56 years of building a life together on the farm, Siegfried and Gladys retired from farm life and moved to Mitchell.  Siegfried spent his retirement years playing cards (didn’t like to lose!), watching the contractors build houses around them, and making secret trips to the Dairy Queen for a treat!

Siegfried is survived by: four children, Wayne (Darcy) Noack of Miller and children Gabrielle and Gavin; Cindy (Terry) Torgerson of Mitchell and children PJ (Meghan) and Danielle (Jeremy); Keith (Janice) Noack of Vacaville, CA and children Jorden (Jake) and Taylor; and Janet (Kurt) Dickson of Cavour and children Nicholas, Courtney (Weston), Brady, Elisebeth, Noah and Hannah; and  5 great-grandchildren: Emmett, Harper, Lily, Henley and Aiden; sister Ruth (Noack) Lemon, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Siegfried was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Gladys, on February 20, 2019, sister Margaret Kopplin, brother Arnold Noack, and sister Sieglinde Burnup.

Deepest sympathy to the Noack family. One of my favorite memories is when he and Dani went to Cali for Jordens graduation .Remembering the wine trip. Such a fun loving guy.
