Jerry D. Pattison, 90, of Mitchell, SD, died Friday, October 25, 2019, at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Monday, October 28, at First Lutheran Church in Mitchell. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell. Visitation will be from 3-5:00 PM Sunday at Bittner Funeral Chapel with a 4:30 PM Prayer Service.

Jerry Darrel Pattison was born to Thomas and Mollie (Krutsch) Pattison on August 17, 1929 in Mitchell, SD. He graduated from Mitchell High School in 1947. He served in US Army during Korean War in Okinawa from 1951 to 1953. Jerry married Ruby Shrake on August 19, 1956.

Throughout his life, Jerry worked for Terrace Park for 29 years, Davison County Fairgrounds for 10 years, and, after retiring, he worked at Sunshine Grocery. He later worked in the Dairy Department at Wal-Mart.

Jerry was a member of the Moose, VFW, Legion, First Lutheran Church, and the James Valley Community Center. He taught gun safety courses when his boys were young.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ruby Pattison; sons, Donald (Cindy) Pattison and Scott (Linda) Pattison; daughter Dawn (Greg) Lambertz; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Gameta (Shrake) Lokken and Maria (Ott) Shrake; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Duaine (Lorraine) Pattison and Milton (Edna) Pattison; and sisters, Connie (Doug), Orma (Joe) VanDeVorde, and Nina (Ray) Nolz.

I have enjoyed knowing Jerry ever since Fred and I took dance lessons many years ago.

Thoughts are with you Ruby and family! I remember Jerry from coming to the Avera Q of P Wellness Center. We had many nice visits.... a very humble, kind gentleman. Bless you!

My vivid memory of Jerry is of him sitting in his chair in the living room with the police scanner going next to him and reading the newspaper. God bless him.
