Lawrence “Larry” Weber, 75, died at his home in Emery, SD on Saturday, December 29, 2018 under the care of hospice.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am Thursday, January 3 at St. Martin Catholic Church in Emery. Burial will be in St. Martin Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 pm on Wednesday with a Scripture and Rosary service at 7:00 pm at the church in Emery. Arrangements are with the Hettinger-Bittner Funeral Chapel in Emery.
Lawrence H. Weber was born September 9, 1943 in Hanson County to Joe B. and Anna (Dorweiler) Weber. He attended Catholic Grade School in Emery and Farmer. After 8th grade graduation he attended Trinity Seminary in Sioux City, IA for a short time. Larry returned to help work the family farm in rural Hanson County and also did cement work. On November 11, 1972 he married Nancy Ann Schulte at St. Martin Catholic church in Emery. In 1983 they purchased the family farm from his parents where he was involved in raising livestock, corn, and soybeans for nearly 50 years. In 2011 he retired and moved into Emery. After retirement he enjoyed helping out with the family farm, especially running the grain cart during harvest.
He was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church, the Catholic Order of Foresters and the South Dakota Army National Guard. Larry’s faith, family, and work ethic were very important to him during his lifetime.
Larry is survived by his wife of 46 years, Nancy, their eleven children: Chris (Liz) Weber of Emery, Mark (Chelsea) Weber of Alexandria, Victor (Kellie) Weber of Emery, Brian (Pam) Weber of Alexandria, Jeffrey Weber of Emery, Angie (Jeremy) Fisk of Emery, Jill (Ryan) Budahl of Emery, Jason Weber of Alexandria, Pamela Weber of Emery, Andrew (Jen) Weber of Alexandria and Lisa (Zak) Radack of Hartford, five brothers: Delbert (Georgie) Weber of Fulton, Jack (Nancy) Weber of Apache Junction, AZ, Vernon (Germaine) Weber of Mitchell, Clarence (Marti) Weber of Rockford, IL, Walter (Debra) Weber of Emery, 17 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters: Jo Williams, Irma Bordewick, Pauline Weber, three brothers: Don, Ray, Bob, and one grandchild Henry Budahl.
